Benjamin Atkins, Chairman of the Board

Mr. Atkins earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters in Gerontology from the University of South Florida. He received his MBA from Western Governors University. He has twenty-five years of involvement in Health Care and Real Estate. Mr. Atkins will lead the Waterfall Bank Board to create a world-class customer experience.

 

Kevin J. Darmody, President

Mr. Darmody earned an undergraduate degree in Biology from Dickinson College. He possesses over 25 years of banking experience, most recently as Vice President of Liquidity Management Services at JP Morgan Chase.  He spent most of his career at Custodial Trust Company, which was a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Bear Stearns Companies.  Mr. Darmody rose to be Chief Operational Officer at the bank having responsibility for all bank functions except accounting and compliance. Mr. Darmody also worked at Bank Leumi USA serving as the Head of Service and Delivery responsible for all retail functions at the bank.

 

David K. Moore, Chief Executive Officer

David Moore is a seasoned banking executive with a proven track record of leadership across regional and community financial institutions. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Waterfall Bank, where he is responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the bank. In this role, he focuses on enhancing Waterfall’s tailored banking solutions, concierge-level service offerings, and expanding its digital banking capabilities.
Prior to joining Waterfall Bank in September 2025, David served as President of Bank of Central Florida, where he led the execution of Vision 2025, a strategic growth initiative from 2020-2025 that expanded the bank’s presence across Florida’s I‑4 corridor, advanced its digital transformation and doubled the size of the bank to over $1B in assets. His earlier roles include Chief Operating Officer at The Bank of Tampa, where he oversaw operational and client-service teams, and Commercial Team Lead at SunTrust Bank, where he focused on recruiting and developing commercial relationship managers.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Florida, where he remains actively engaged as an Industry Advisor to the university’s Finance Professional Development Program, mentoring students pursuing careers in commercial banking and financial services

 

Melissa Atkins, EVP, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Atkins (no relation to Benjamin Atkins) earned her associates degree from Gadsen State College. Her career has spanned over 20 years in the banking industry.  She began her career at Florida Choice Bank where she advanced to the Controller position.  In 2008, Ms. Atkins was a founding Executive and EVP of First Green Bank and served as both the Chief Financial Officer and the Chief Operating Officer.  Ms. Atkins has also worked in a consultant role at Cogent Bank in helping manage Cogent’s risk tolerances and profiles.  In addition, she advised senior management in developing the bank’s financial strategy.

 

Mr. Leeor Farhadian, Director

J.D. from Harvard Law with additional studies at MIT and Oxford. Vast experience in investment management and law. Held senior roles at leading organizations including EnTrust Global and Skadden and Arps. Currently, serves as Chief Investment Officer for a family office.

 

W. Jason George, Director

Mr. George spent the majority of his career working at the Financial Stability Board / Bank for International Settlements (Basel, Switzerland) developing international standards for the financial sector and, in turn, assisting central banks and supervisory authorities in developed and emerging markets to implement them domestically. Previously, he served as a resident advisor – on behalf of the International Monetary Fund and US Agency for International Development – to central banks in several countries, working with them to implement reforms to their oversight of the banking system in the wake of financial crises. Mr. George began his career with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, serving as a bank examiner, case manager and capital markets specialist.

Mr. George resides in Boulder, Colorado and is active in the local community.

 

Julian Mesa, Director

Mr. Mesa earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida Atlantic University and has an inactive CPA License. He recently retired as Executive Vice President of Iberia Bank.  He has also served as an Executive Vice President for Sabadell United Bank.  Mr. Mesa was the President and Head of Lending of Transatlantic Bank which merged with Sabadell.

Celebrated senior executive in the financial services sector.

Over 27-year leadership track record with Butterfield Bank culminating his executive career as Managing Director Cayman and President  & Chief Operating Officer, BNTB Group.

 

Charlie Robinson, Jr., Director

Charlie is a native of Clearwater, Florida, and is actively involved in the Tampa Bay community. He currently serves as the President of Sandstone Insurance Partners, a full-service insurance brokerage operating in Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. He previously worked for USI for 33 years, specializing in the property and casualty industry with a focus on large risk management accounts. Charlie has built a national reputation for delivering impactful results to his clients’ risk management needs, particularly in the hospitality, healthcare, and private equity sectors.

Charlie earned his BSBA in Finance from the University of Florida in 1990. He has held various leadership roles, including President of YMCA of the Suncoast (current board member), President of Goodwill Industries Suncoast, and President of Belleair Country Club. Additionally, he was a member of the Planning and Zoning Board of the city of Belleair and served as the Finance Chair of Ruth Eckerd Hall.
